We are rebuilding our team and have two vacancies available to join a passionate Child and Adolescent team who places great value on putting people first, embedding Te Ao Māori in every-day practice, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together.

As in most areas, we have seen an increase in complexity in this specialty area and take great pride in the exceptional care offered by the Lakes team serving the tamariki (children), rangatahi (young people) and their whānau and families. The role can be based in Rotorua or Taupō and clinics are offered at both sites.

Te Ara Tauwhirotanga is the product of extensive co-design with over 400 participants from the Lakes community, a model that clearly articulates what works for people in their recovery and healing journey. The successful candidate will:

  • have a broad range of general psychiatric skills
  • hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration as a Child Psychiatrist with Medical Council of NZ
  • enjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with fourth, fifth and sixth year medical students as well as registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCP.

The role:

  • Busy role with a broad variety of Child and Adolescent psychiatry
  • 1:6 on-call roster

Awhe utu – Salary range

$ 142,000 to $ 267,980 pro-rated to hours worked plus Senior Medical Officer allowances.
