Christchurch Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interventional Cardiologist to join our dynamic team. About the role

As an Interventional Cardiologist you will:

• perform a range of interventional procedures, including coronary angioplasty and stenting
• have training and / or experience in complex coronary and CTO intervention would be an advantage
• participate in the acute management of cardiovascular emergencies and complex cases
• contribute to multidisciplinary patient care, working closely with cardiothoracic surgery, radiology, and intensive care teams
• provide clinical leadership and training to junior doctors and allied health professionals
• engage in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives
• participate in an on-call roster as part of a dedicated team.

You may also perform structural heart interventions.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent specialist qualification
• registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a specialist in cardiology
• extensive experience in interventional cardiology, including proficiency in complex coronary interventions
• a strong commitment to patient-centred care, clinical excellence, and teamwork
• a passion for innovation, research, and teaching.
