Patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we pride ourselves on ensuring the best possible patient experience as well as safe, high quality care.
Currently we are seeking expressions of interest for a Medical Dermatologist to be based at Dunedin Hospital.
Mō mātou – About us
We are seeking expressions of interests from a hospital based dermatologist (acute conditions and outpatient care) whose value is centred on providing top quality healthcare to our diverse patient population. In this role, you will be responsible for the dermatology service in a supportive and dynamic environment. In this role you will be diagnosing and treating acute skin conditions, conducting skin examinations, performing minor surgical procedures, and providing expert advice on skincare.
The Dermatology service is currently provided by locum dermatologists and we are looking to establish a small department within Dunedin hospital to look after the dermatological needs across the Southern Region of the South Island. The primary role would be to provide outpatient clinics for patients (including paediatric) referred into secondary care by their General Practitioner but you will also work closely with the specialist teams in Dunedin hospital to provide advice, support and treatment for acute complex skin conditions.
The dermatology service is provided out of our outpatient rooms and there are nursing staff who support the clinics. We have a phototherapy suite and have access to medical day stay infusions. Clinics will need to be provided both in Dunedin as well as Invercargill and so some travel will be required for this role.
