Required qualifications: About you In both areas you'll be an integral and valued member of a multidisciplinary team that ensures we provide our clients with assertive follow-up by maintaining contact with individuals through the key worker system. You will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team. Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position and previous general adult experience in either an inpatient or community setting is essential. You will have a strong commitment to service user and family / whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery. You will also have a sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levels. You will be required to participate on an on call roster providing after hours coverage for the Otago part of the wider Southern district. Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent is essential, and you must be eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council.

We proudly strive to provide top quality healthcare to our diverse patient population, and we are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to be based at Wakari Hospital, working for a urban community mental health team, Dunedin.

This role involves the assessment and treatment formulation of patients while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and engaging with the wider mental health and addictions sector.

The Community Mental Health teams provide a range of specialist mental health services in the community for example child and adolescent services and addictions. Utu whānui – Salary range

This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro rata)
