Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

This position would suit a generally trained plastic surgeon with subspecialty interests of hand, skin cancer, melanoma and breast being useful.

This role will also have a commitment to a general plastic trauma list and will contribute to ‘see and treat’ skin lesion clinics. There will be a general plastic surgery on call commitment equating to 1:10 currently.

The plastic surgery service provides regional services to Wellington, Wairarapa, Mid Central, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson/Marlborough and Whanganui DHBs. In addition, the Unit provides supra-regional services in vascular anomalies and laser.

We have an internationally renowned plastic and burns unit, regional rheumatology and public health services, and all our specialties have a strong focus on excellence and innovation.

Moū – About you

  • Vocationally registered in plastic and reconstructive surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • FRACS or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
  • Minimum of 2 years’ consultant experience
  • Be able to demonstrate collegial working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams
