Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

The Crisis Resolution Service (CRS) is a 24 hour community mental health and addictions team working across the Hutt Valley and Wellington Region. CRS is part of the Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service and responds to the acute needs of people who are experiencing psychological distress and require immediate intervention in our community.

The inpatient unit is a 24 hour mental health assessment and treatment unit for adults aged from 18 upwards who are experiencing serious mental health concerns.

The team is multi-disciplinary with a focus on recovery and returning people to their usual life with community support if needed. We aim to provide the best possible clinical care in a respectful, supportive, safe and caring environment.

Moū – About you

  • Vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • FRANZCP or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for people presenting with a diverse range of mental and physical health challenges
  • Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
  • Relevant experience and training

The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs – Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB’s and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region – greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa. Te Korowai Whariki services include regional forensic and rehabilitation services covering the Central region while the intellectual disability services extend the length and breadth of the country from six bases located in Whangarei, Auckland, Cambridge, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
