Specialist Medical Officer/Gastroenterologist, Gastroenterology
The Department of Gastroenterology at Middlemore Hospital invites applications for a Gastroenterologist with experience/interest in Hepatology. Middlemore Hospital is an accredited, 800-bed, teaching hospital of Auckland University and it is the main acute medicine centre for the region of over 550,000 people.
Our Department of Gastroenterology currently operates 4 endoscopy procedure rooms and we offer a large volume of outpatient services and on-site gastroenterology diagnostic services. Our Gastroenterology Service provides high quality under-graduate and post-graduate teaching with an active research program in place. You will work within a team including 17 other Gastroenterologists.
Responsibilities include, endoscopy, acute general gastroenterology care on the gastroenterology ward and the out of hours gastroenterology roster. There will also be contribution to the provision of outpatient clinics.
We are seeking a colleague to cover sabbatical leave within the department for a fixed term period.
Salary and conditions of service will be in accordance with the New Zealand ASMS Award Agreement.
