Join our dynamic Respiratory Team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā.
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Respiratory Senior Medical Officer (SMO) looking for a change of scenery for a year (12-month fixed-term role). We are seeking a passionate physician to join our progressive and positive team at Waitematā, on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand.
This position is currently a 0.65 FTE purely respiratory role, but additional general medicine hours are available if a full-time role is required (and you are dual trained).
About the role
We provide top-notch respiratory care to a diverse population, working across two hospital sites in North and West Auckland. We collaborate with other departments to deliver high-quality, innovative services. Our multidisciplinary team works closely with respiratory colleagues across Metro Auckland.
Work alongside collaborative and helpful colleagues in a supportive environment to deliver outpatient services and clinics, inpatient consults, bronchoscopy and EBUS lists across the week.
Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with a 1:9 after-hours roster.

You will:
- be a dual-trained respiratory physician with, or be eligible for, vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- be committed to providing high-quality patient care and working in a team-oriented environment.
