Required qualifications: To be eligible for this position you must either be registered (or eligible) with the Medical Council of New Zealand and have a specialist qualification in Rheumatology that is recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as suitable for Vocational Registration in New Zealand.
MDHB are looking for a Rheumatologist to join our team of experienced health professionals with a focus on the delivery of high quality specialist care to the growing population across the Midcentral Region.

We want to recruit a Rheumatologist who will work with us in developing responsive ways of meeting the needs of our growing population. We are happy to consider applicants who would want a General Medicine and Rheumatology mix to the position or less than 1.0 FTE.

Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 88,000 and a total population catchment of 186,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools

Palmerston North itself is a vibrant, multicultural city that is home to outstanding primary, secondary, and tertiary schools, including Massey University. There are excellent restaurants and shops, and ample local opportunities for outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, and camping.
