Required qualifications: Mōu ake - About you To be eligible for this role, you must either be registered (or eligible) with the Medical Council of New Zealand and have a specialist qualification in Radiation Oncology that is recognised by the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Radiology as suitable for Vocational Registration in New Zealand. Candidates who are not currently registered with the New Zealand Medical Council should be aware that it is a requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion. We are activity looking for a Consultant Radiation Oncologist to join our Dunedin team! Here you will contribute to the provision of safe best practice but cost-effective clinical services to patients referred to our service, working alongside our experienced team of 6 Haematologists and 9 Medical Oncologists. Our MDT consists of Medical Physicists, Technicians, Radiation Therapists and Nurses. We operate three Linear Accelerators, including two Elekta HD Versa and a Varian TrueBeam, a Monaco treatment planning system and Mosaiq oncology patient management system and Siemens CT scanner. SBCS delivers body stereotactic treatment for lung and spine in addition to providing the national cranial stereotactic service. Our Service provides regional care and covers the lower South Island so you will have the opportunity to participate in outreach clinics.
Dunedin Hospital has just under 400 beds and provides general care for a population of approximately 180,000 and specialist care for approximately 350,000 people spread over the lower South Island of New Zealand.
