Mō te tūranga – About the role
Te Whatu Ora – Whanganui is seeking a General Medicine Physician to join our highly skilled team of 9 physicians providing General Medicine services for the people of the Whanganui rohe/region.
Our service in Whanganui is a 35-bed medical ward and 6 bed critical care unit.
For physicians who are dual trained there is opportunity to accommodate and negotiate ongoing sub-speciality practice and we would be open to further discussions involving any specialty alongside Internal Medicine.
You will be instrumental in supporting our Registrars and Resident Medical Officers.
2 outpatient clinics a week and 1 ECG stress clinic and the flexibility to take on additional clinics if you chose to.

To be successful in the role, you will be a team player with a broad general medical qualification in order to provide an acute on-call service as part of the team.
To be considered for this role you will need to be FRACP (or equivalent) holding, or be eligible to hold, a vocational registration with Medical Council of NZ.
If you are an international candidate you can be considered for this role under the condition, you are eligible for vocational registration with the MCNZ.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a strong commitment to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You are able to build and maintain positive working relationships with others in your team, and in other departments.
