Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

Older Adults Rehabilitation & Allied (ORA) services have an opportunity for a 6 months fixed term Geriatrician to join our team.

In this rewarding role you will work within our Acute Health of Older Persons (AHOP) team at Wellington Regional Hospital to optimise health outcomes for complex older adults. Your professional development will be well supported within our team and you will have the opportunity to progress quality improvement in your area and supervise House Officers and Registrars.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

Geriatricians in the AHOP team inpatient team provide specialist consultation to the Emergency Department and acute wards across Orthopaedic and Medical services and take the lead on managing patients admitted to the Acute Frailty Unit. You will work closely with other specialities and multidisciplinary teams who are motivated to make a difference for older adults. You will be part of a wider Geriatric and Rehabilitation service providing specialist care across the Wellington region in community, outpatient and inpatient settings.

  • Vocationally registered in internal medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)

  • Relevant experience and training
