General Surgeon – Upper Gastrointestinal Specialty
Dunedin Hospital

• Permanent, 0.8 FTE (32 Hours per week)

We have a unique opportunity for you to join us at Dunedin Hospital, in a small town, where nothing is a bother. We have a 0.8FTE permanent vacancy at the moment, which would allow you to take up private work should you wish to, there is also the ability to discuss the potential up to a full time FTE. You will be a General Surgeon with a specialty interest in upper gastrointestinal surgery who is happy to take part in the general surgery call roster.

Dunedin Hospital is a 350-bed teaching and training institution. It is closely associated with the Dunedin School of Medicine, the University of Otago and is a Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Surgeons Integrated Training Program site. The Otago Medical School offers undergraduate training and all sub-specialities are represented in the Southern District Health Board. Dunedin offers the benefits of working in a tertiary referral centre with 10 other Surgical colleagues, in a unique and attractive lifestyle location. The position includes provision of continuing medical education opportunities.

It is essential that you are a registered Medical Practitioner with a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent, enabling specialist (vocational) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
