Job description

General Surgeon – Upper Gastrointestinal Specialty
Dunedin Hospital
Fixed term
up to 1 FTE (40 Hours per week)

We have a unique opportunity for you to join us at Dunedin Hospital, small town, where nothing is a bother, in a fixed term position for up to a year, as a 0.8FTE (there is the potential for up to a full time FTE, should you wish). You will need to be a registered Medical Practitioners holding a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent, enabling specialist (vocational) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Ideally you will be a General Surgeon with a specialty interest in upper gastrointestinal surgery who is happy to take part in the general surgery call roster.

Dunedin Hospital is a 350-bed teaching and training institution. It is closely associated with the Dunedin School of Medicine, the University of Otago and is a Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Surgeons Integrated Training Program site. The Otago Medical School offers undergraduate training and all sub-specialities are represented in the Southern District Health Board.
