Job description

Nelson Marlborough Health's (NMH's) Mental Health and Addictions Service is seeking a permanent, full-time Specialist Psychiatrist to join our highly effective team, performing vital work across our inpatient and community services.

Our well developed community Psychiatric services include a community mental health team, with 24 hour crisis intervention, general adult, child and adolescent, older persons and addiction medicine. Inpatient care is provided through an onsite 26 bed inpatient unit with IPC facilities.

You would be based in Nelson serving a population of approximately 100,000. Staffing includes: seven Psychiatrists, four Medical Officers / Registrars and House Surgeons.

Applicants must hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent, and be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. Experience in consult liaison psychiatry would be an advantage.
