Job description

General Ophthalmologist


Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. We are also the leading provider of a number of specialist services, including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care, specialised mental health services and support a population of about 900,000 people. Our DHB has an annual budget of more than $1 billion, which we use to deliver health services directly and contract external providers to provide care, such as general practices, rest homes and pharmacists.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Ophthalmologist to join our team, this role can be either part time of full time.

The Ophthalmology service is a progressive and expanding clinical service providing a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient ophthalmic care for the greater Wellington region.

We are seeking someone to work as a general ophthalmologist or as a specialist ophthalmologist. Expertise in any sub-specialty of ophthalmology would be welcome.

The successful candidate will have good communication skills, a willingness to teach medical and surgical skills, a proven track record in clinical audit and be able to demonstrate a commitment to research.
