Job description

ENT Surgeon
Invercargill
Fixed term, full time

Southland Hospital, situated in the city of Invercargill, is one of the newest hospitals in New Zealand, providing modern and easily accessible facilities for staff and patients. Southland Hospital is the base hospital for a wide geographical area, creating enormous scope for a variety of work.
We are looking for an experienced Otolaryngologist to join us on a fixed term basis, between 6 months and a year in a generalist position with an on-call responsibilities. While you will be the sole ENT practitioner on site at Southland Hospital, you will be supported by the clinical leader and your colleagues from Dunedin Hospital, who also undertake clinics at Southland Hospital. You will see a full range of patients in this role and perform a variety of procedures such as endoscopic sinus surgery, middle ear surgery, facial skin cancer surgery and paediatric ENT procedures. All major head & neck surgery is currently carried out at Dunedin Hospital.

You must have completed your specialist training to make you eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. An attractive remuneration package, relocation assistance and CME allowance is included in the package.

Candidates who are not currently registered with the New Zealand Medical Council should be aware that from 1 November 2017 it will be the requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC.
