Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the implementation of a new MRI service within MidCentral Health’s Acute and Elective Specialist Services.

The Acute and Elective Specialist Services has released a tender to purchase an MRI to be installed within the hospital grounds with an anticipated go live date of June 2019.

The position would be appointed as soon as possible in order to participate in the installation of the MRI.

This new position will have ongoing clinical oversite for the MRI service working alongside the Charge MRI Medical Imaging Technologist. You would be expected to support the development of the policies and procedures that are required to ensure the smooth implementation and operation of the service.

This would be a Monday to Friday role.

General Information

MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.

Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.

Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures. Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.

Qualifications required

A specialist qualification in Radiology and eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
