Contract: Permanent, part time (20+ hours per week)


Capital and Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) and Wellington Southern Community Laboratories (WSCL) have 3 roles vacant, which have been vacated by a single person leaving the institutions. We invite applicants for these positions, but would consider applicants for one or two of them.

Clinical Immunologist (0.6 FTE), Clinical Leader Immunology (0.025FTE + allowance), Laboratory Immunologist (WSCL 0.4FTE).

The Immunology Service at Wellington Regional Hospital receives referrals from across the Wellington region and the lower north island. Based in Wellington, you will provide advice and treatment for a variety of conditions and as one of our three specialists you will be a key member of our multidisciplinary team managing chronic disease. The commitment for this role is for clinical sessions three days a week on Wednesday to Friday.

Wellington Southern Community Laboratories (WSCL) provides laboratory services to both the hospital and community for three district health boards in the lower north island. WSCL is part of the largest network of diagnostic laboratory services in New Zealand. The main laboratory is based at Wellington Hospital. You will have the opportunity work with another immunopathologist, technical staff and management to provide a high quality service to our patients and requestors. You will be part of a team of pathologists who cover all disciplines.


- hold or be eligible to hold specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) - we would consider you if you are a specialist registrar about to complete your training and looking for your first consultant role or a more experienced Clinical Immunologists and/or Laboratory Immunologist with leadership experience
- high level of communication and have the ability to interact with a wide variety of people from various backgrounds
- engage with a variety of health professionals and use feedback to improve the quality and responsiveness of services
