Southland Hospital, rebuilt in 2004, is a state-of-the-art facility that provides healthcare to a population of 105,000. Located in the lower South Island, Southland offers a wide range of recreational activities. It is home to two of New Zealand’s national parks offering opportunities for tramping, internationally acclaimed fishing and a wide range of outdoor pursuits. Southland Hospital is the base hospital for a wide geographical area, creating enormous scope for variety of work. And with our state-of-the-art hospital, together with the latest in PACS digital radiology, MRI, CT and iSOFT patient management system, there's no better place to take a leading role in maintaining and enhancing our Ophthalmology services. Ideally we would like an Ophthalmologist with an interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology to join our team.

An outstanding team player and capable leader, you'll have the energy to make a positive difference with both patients and colleagues. In addition to enjoying a challenging workload and an exceptional quality of life, you can look forward to a highly competitive pay rate and a culture where staff are included, valued and respected for their expertise.
