Location: Wellington, Porirua

Contract: Fixed term (2 months), Full time


The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic team providing care to people with vascular problems within the Wellington region. The vascular service provides open surgical, endovascular and outpatient care to people both within the Wellington region and the central region. We are keen to recruit a dynamic surgeon who is keen to join a team providing high quality care to our population. The successful person will have an interest in academic research, and will be interested in the advertised academic position with the Otago School of Medicine. You will be joining a friendly, welcoming team who prides itself on clinical excellence and innovation.

The applicant will be responsible for providing consultant services that facilitate the provision of appropriate quality vascular services to the patients who come under his/her care, and for training of Registrars in accordance with the requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

This role joins a service with a total staff of four consultants and RMOs. This position reports to the Clinical Leader, Vascular Surgery and Operations Manager, Surgery.

- Vocationally registered in vascular surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- Fellowship of the RACS (FRACS) in vascular surgery or equivalent and be able to register for specialist r-registration with the MCNZ
- Relevant experience
