Job description

The Canterbury District Health Board systematically plan, fund and deliver care to almost 600,000 New Zealanders that live in the Canterbury region. The Team

The Department of General Surgery at Christchurch Hospital provide a comprehensive range of tertiary level, acute and elective General Surgical services to the people of Canterbury and beyond. The Department currently comprises:

* 21 General Surgeons
* 4 Medical Officers
* 19 Registrars
* 10 House Officers

Covering the following sub speciality areas:

* Oncoplastic Breast and Endocrine
* Upper GI
* Lower GI

Supported by three inpatient ward areas, specialist nursing staff, and a comprehensive range of Allied health services.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled General Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in Oncoplastic Breast and Endocrine surgery to join our vibrant and patient focussed team. This is a new position and the successful applicant will work alongside the current Oncoplastic Breast and Endocrine team. An overview of the Clinical Duties can be found in the Position Description, and participation in the acute call roster is required.
