Job description

•Fixed-term, 14 month part-time position (0.5 FTE) in Nelson, New Zealand

About the role

This is a fixed-term position for 14 months, working 40 hours per fortnight. This will include working one weekend in every three.

You'll be keen to contribute in the ever changing world of Emergency Medicine, working in a high performing team of motivated professionals. This position is based in a teaching hospital you'll have plenty of scope to work alongside both senior and junior staff, developing and sharing your knowledge, as we have a real quality focus with teaching a high priority. Our Emergency Department has 28,000 patient encounters per annum. The Emergency team comprising of Doctors, Nurses, Allied Health Staff, and Administration staff, to create an environment of excellence.

Our admission rate is around 24%.

You'll bring the following qualifications and experience:
•General registration in New Zealand
•Current Annual Practising Certificate
•Considerable Emergency Department experience gained preferably in a provincial hospital

What we offer

We offer a great place to work with job security and workplace wellness programmes. You will also be entitled to six weeks annual leave, paid indemnity insurance and a relocation package. We offer ten days leave and $16,000 NZD towards your continued medical education - CME (pro-rata).

Base salary for this position will be from $121,243 - $186,261 NZD pro-rata (as per the current medical and dental officer collective agreement) dependent on skills, experience and having full vocational registration in NZ. Penal rates apply to out of hours activity.
