Consultant Radiation Oncologist - Fixed term (057934)
Dunedin Hospital

• Fixed term, 1 FTE (40 per week)

Applications are invited for a fixed term Consultant Radiation Oncologist position at Dunedin Hospital, ideally you will join us as soon as possible for a yearlong assignment, however, if you are available for less time we would still be happy to hear from you!

Dunedin Hospital is a 350-bed teaching and training institution with strong links to the School of Medicine at Otago University. We offer a full complement of sub-specialities and are a training site for the Royal Australasian & New Zealand College of Radiologists.

About the Team
Here you will join the team of 5 Haematologists, 5 Medical Oncologists and 5 Radiation Oncologists working within the Southern Blood and Cancer Service in the lower South Island. You will contribute to the provision of safe, best practice, cost effective clinical services to patients of, and referred to our Clinical and Laboratory Haematology Department.

Our Service provides regional care and covers the lower South Island so you will have the opportunity to participate in outreach clinics.

About You
As a Consultant Radiation Oncologist you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team. Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position. You will have a strong commitment to service user and family / whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery. You will also have a sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism and the organisational values. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levels.

A requirement of the position is that you will have Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Radiologists or an equivalent qualification, enabling specialist (vocational) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Dunedin is a great little city with a big town feel and well-known for its Southern Hospitality. We are a coastal city, so if you have any interest in anything on the water you will have access to it all. If you like to hit the slopes we are the largest city to Central Otago allowing you to use your spare time up one of the famous South Island ski fields. You will also have access to good schools, the University of Otago, and all the recreational potential which Dunedin and its surrounds possess.
