Job description

Whanganui District Health Board (WDHB) is seeking applications for a permanent position from a suitably qualified, competent and experienced O&G Consultant who is vocationally registered, or is eligible vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

You would be part of a team of four obstetrician & gynaecologist consultants based at the Whanganui hospital which serves a population of 63,000. The birth rate for Whanganui is around 800 births per year with a caesarean rate of less than 20 percent. A full range of gynaecology services, including colposcopy are provided. The consultant team provides 24hour on-call cover, the cover is shared equality between all consultants (part-time or fulltime). Participation in the on-call roster is a requirement of the role.

Whanganui Hospital is located on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island, with a wide range of services including general medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmology, dentistry and psychiatry.
