Consultant Radiologist – Interventional Subspecialty (055903)
Dunedin Hospital
Permanent, Full-time

About the Role
Southern DHB’s Radiology Service serves a population of approximately 310,000 people over the lower South Island of New Zealand. We offer a full range of imaging modalities based on a digital RIS / PACS system. The nature of the work is predominantly emergency and inpatient cases.

We are seeking an Interventional Radiologist who can provide a wide range of techniques, including
peripheral vascular procedures, biliary drainage (rather than PTC), nephrostomies, trauma embolisation, tunnelled lines, fistula intervention, EVAR. If you would like to contribute to a general radiology component and general out of hours roster, we are happy to accommodate this.

You would be expected to support and participate in radiology service and quality initiatives as part of your role.

Dunedin Hospital provides training to Registrars from the Royal Australasian College of Radiologists, so we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about teaching and passing on their knowledge to junior members of staff. You will be involved in the supervision of radiology registrars who will be working alongside you.


About You
Ideally with a subspecialty in interventional radiology, and be able to take part in the vascular interventional daytime and on-call roster, there is an option to undertake general call as well.

You must have FRANZCR qualified (or equivalent) and hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with Medical Council of NZ.
