We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Consultant to join the Department of Emergency Medicine at Rotorua Hospital. We also welcome part time applications.
Rotorua Hospital is a District General Hospital in one of the most spectacular regions of New Zealand. You will have the opportunity to balance rewarding Emergency Medicine practice with an amazing life style.
Rotorua is in the centre of the North Island surrounded by lakes and mountain bike tracks – yet only an hour from the spectacular east coast beaches. The beautiful lake Taupo is also an hour away with

Our HOD, Dr Suzanne Moran leads a friendly team of doctors and nurses working with a wide variety of adult and paediatric clinical presentations in our 20 bed unit. This is a growing Emergency Department which is focused on evolving to meet the challenges of our population whilst developing as a regional training center.
There are 8 Emergency Physicians working 10 hour shifts and one week-end a month. We have 12 junior doctors including Emergency Medicine trainees. We are an ACEM accredited training department.
Rotorua has all secondary hospital specialties with tertiary level care provided at Waikato hospital. Our annual census is approximately 35,000 attendances per annum.
