What you’ll do with your time
Our team in Buller are looking for a permanent, full-time General Practitioner Lead. In this role you will be working as a Lead within our services based in Westport as well as a representative of Buller General Practice at a Coast wide level.
You will have the opportunity to work across our diverse facility which includes an inpatient ward, an Emergency/ Stabilising space and our busy Primary care Clinic. As we are delivering 24 hour care to our community you will be required to be part of our out of hours care team at times. The focus for the Westport team is to support people to stay well in their own homes, improve the health of our population, improve equity and access to all services, integrate care inter-professionally and to work with the community, PHO and NGOs at a local level.
On the West Coast, we are leading the way in many respects when it comes to innovations in rural health delivery in New Zealand. You will be able to enjoy the unique and diverse work that we do here on the coast while working alongside supportive colleagues in primary and secondary care throughout our health system.
With a new Integrated Health Facility due to start construction later this year, this is an excellent opportunity for someone to be a part of and lead this process to fully integrate all of our services.
As you will be employed by the West Coast DHB and have access to a wide variety of E Journals, specialist medical libraries and a dedicated CME allowance every year so you will be able to continually grow and develop your practice.
Only candidates who are eligible for registration to practice in New Zealand can be considered, so please check your eligibility with the MCNZ by following this link here.
