ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced ophthalmologist or ophthalmology fellow to join our ophthalmology team at CCDHB. The work will be interesting and varied, and will include clinics, operating lists, and managing a range of patients with different eye problems and working with a range of differed health professionals. While we would prefer someone with experience in or interest in glaucoma, we would consider other suitable candidates. The successful candidate will be joining a group of innovative health professionals who provide exemplary care to patients.
This is a fixed term role until 31 December 2021 to assist in our ophthalmology recovery plan post Covid-19.
- Provide healthcare in our clinics the Wellington region
- Provide ongoing care to patients with eye disease
- Support and teaching to other health professionals
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Vocationally registered in ophthalmology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRANZCO or equivalent and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
- Excellent interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment
- Preferably a glaucoma specialist but will consider other sub-specialist
- Relevant training and experience
- Have a current New Zealand driver’s license
