Lakes District Health Board (LDHB) is seeking to appoint a part time Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
LDHB is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity with a strategic priority of addressing the current health inequities being experienced by our Maori communities.
There is a growing multi cultural community with a large Te Arawa Maori population at the Rotorua end of our rohe and a large Ngati Tuwharetoa population in our Taupo/Turangi rohe. It is a tourism mecca and enjoys good weather both winter and summer. It is the gateway to the coast and the mountains, and is an ideally placed hub for passionate and committed people.
With abundant lakes, spectacular forests and amazing geothermal wonders, the Lakes region is the perfect home for nature lovers. Residents benefit from world class outdoor activities like boating, swimming, mountain biking, trail running and fishing. Rotorua and Taupo have become the lifestyle destination of choice for professional couples, families and people that have a passion for life and the outdoors.
LDHB has two modern hospitals and provides secondary (Tier 2) services for a population of 115,000 across a large geographical area. The DHB funds a range of comprehensive community healthcare services.
Applications are invited from Senior Medical Consultants who have a strong commitment to medical leadership, clinical quality and excellent outcomes for patients, their families and the community.
