Contract: Fixed term, Full time (starting June 2021)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Consultant Radiologist for 12 months to cover maternity leave. The hours are full time, however applicants who may be interested in part-time hours are also encouraged to apply.

Our Radiology Services provide a wide range of diagnostic and interventional imaging for the Wellington community and adjacent regions, including Angiography, CT, Fluoroscopy, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and General Radiography.

The Wellington Regional Hospital is one of New Zealand’s five tertiary medical centres and the department is a recognised training institution for Registrars, MITs and Sonographers. An emphasis is placed on teaching, including on-going personal and professional development. The department boasts a dynamic and diverse team of 20+ radiologists who work closely together in a strong collegial environment.

The Consultant Radiologist is an integral member of a team dedicated to the provision of high quality diagnostic images for patients at Capital Coast DHB and the 3DHB sub-region. The role provides for examination reporting, appropriate oversight of Radiology registrars and participation in quality assurance, research and audit activities.

DUTIES

- Reporting and supervising scanning lists (e.g. CT, MRI, Ultrasound)
- Interventional procedures as appropriate
- Preparing and taking clinical meetings/MDMs and liaising with clinicians where required
- Registrar teaching

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Vocationally registered in D&I Radiology a with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
FRANZCR or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
