ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Consultant Geriatrician to cover leave from 5 July 2021 - 6 August 2021.
The services operate from all 3 main hospital sites – Wellington, Kenepuru Hospital (Porirua) and Kapiti Health Centre and in the community setting. It provides a range of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services in community, inpatient and outpatient settings. You will be working in the Health of Older Persons Service, based at Kenepuru Hospital (Restorative health of Older Persons).
As a Consultant you will provide specialist clinical services, training and mentoring for junior medical staff within the service. You will be part of a team that works closely together to provide a co-ordinated approach and continuity of care for patients.
The on call requirement is 1:7-8 on-call.
- Care of ORA inpatients based at Kenepuru Hospital
- Oversight of Registrar and House Surgeon within team
- Participation in On call roster covering Inpatient wards at Kenepuru
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Vocationally registered in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRACP or equivalent and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
- Excellent interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment
- Relevant training and experience
