64 hours a fortnight, Monday to Friday, with no on call

We are a busy contemporary ophthalmology service providing a wide range of general ophthalmology care with a dedicated team of ophthalmologists (with general and specialist training) specialty nurses, orthoptists, optometrists and technicians. Our suites include: OCT, Fields, Photography and Lasers and our operating theatres have modern microscopes and Alcon Centurion Phakoemulsification equipment.

We are looking for a Specialist Ophthalmologist to join our team of four Ophthalmologists on a fixed-term basis. This position will be based at Wairau Hospital in Blenheim. You will be part of our district-wide service supported by the ophthalmology clinical team at Nelson Hospital.

You will be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand, and have undertaken postgraduate training in Ophthalmology, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologist (or equivalent).

You will have excellent communication skills, a commitment to client oriented care and quality standards, and will enjoy working in a collaborative and cohesive team.

Salary for this position will be the range of $164,369 – $244,560 (pro rata) as per the current senior medical and dental officer collective agreement - dependent on skills, experience and gaining full vocational registration in NZ.
