Job description

The Regional Cancer Treatment Service at MidCentral District Health Board provides medical oncology, radiation oncology and clinical haematology services funded by the MidCentral, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Whanganui, Tairawhiti and Taranaki District Health Boards, for their communities.

We are seeking to appoint a Medical Oncologist for the Regional Cancer Treatment Service based at Hastings Hospital in the Outpatient Cancer Service preferably commencing in October 2021. This is a permanent position hours negotiable.

Applicants for this position must have, or be eligible for, vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council as well as having demonstrated clinical skills and the ability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.

The role will involve providing cancer care and the delivery of systemic therapy, supporting a team of specialist cancer nurses, supporting Multi-Disciplinary Meetings and providing HBDHB clinicians with advice on the management of the patient with cancer in the inpatient setting.
