Are you looking for a better lifestyle and a workplace that is collaborative, progressive and passionate about learning? We currently have one vacancy available as we increase our capacity to care for our patients in the Obstetrician and Gynaecology services for the Southern region of New Zealand.
We deliver to a population of approximately 329,000 people over the Otago and Southland regions, through two main centres, Dunedin and Invercargill. We proudly provide top quality healthcare to our population. There are approximately 1400 births per year at Southland Hospital, Invercargill and a further 200 in the surrounding rural areas. Our department consists of a 14 room maternity unit with four birthing rooms, a level two six cot neonatal unit and a dedicated Women's Health Unit. The service is supported by a team of experienced midwives, obstetrics, gynaecology and colposcopy nurses.
As a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for us, you will have a personal commitment to providing an effective and efficient inpatient and outpatient service and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a tight knit team. This position offers you a broad experience in all aspects of Obstetric and Gynaecology Medicine and with that spearhead optimum health and wellbeing to our Southland community. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and to providing training to students at all levels.

Applicants must have completed, or be about to complete their specialist training and be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand.

Candidates who are not currently registered with the New Zealand Medical Council should be aware that it is a requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. Covid vaccination requirements
Following the update to COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021, to be employed with Southern DHB you will be required to be fully vaccinated as a health care worker. If you have already been fully vaccinated you will need to provide proof of this to Occupational Health staff. If you are not yet fully vaccinated you must make arrangements to undertake your first vaccination no later than the 15 November 2021 and be fully vaccinated, as required by the Order, by 1 January 2022.
